Spring Weather – and a defiant face.

Sorry for the crazy lapses in writing – but in our prairie – SPRING HAS SPRUNG! How can a person sit inside and write when there is green grass, sunshine, balls to be tossed, slides to be slid, and swings to be swung?

…and food to be grilled! YUM.

We have had a wonderful week here in our little town.  Todd has been able to be with us a lot and I have had a much-needed break from “single” parenting. You can sense the ease throughout the whole household.  Belle has been much better behaved (I think being away from all the sugary junk food of her grandma’s has also helped!) and has gotten lots of sunshine. I have been able to forget about my chores and enjoy the day, and Todd has been able to mow and spend time participating in everything he misses 95% of the time!

I’m going to share a few pictures from one evening this week. Enjoy!

We are working on powerlifting in this house! 🙂 This kid is seriously strong – but she comes from a family of strong women! We have holes in our fence and these bricks keep dogs and animals from getting in and out.  B feels like this one is her personal chair so she moves it a lot.

Holly even spent some time enjoying the outdoors! She just got a haircut. She’s so cute!

We do a lot of running!

See what I mean? This is her chair – even though she missed it this time!

Playing “soccer” with Daddy!

Good weather means dirty feet, right? Actually, she’s usually a huge shoe fiend. This particular day, she was so interested in getting outside she put on her new shoes that are too big.  When they wouldn’t cooperate, she kicked them off.

THIS was the picture I wanted to show you. This is her happy “defiant” face! I know she’s about to run or do something I told her not to do when she gives me this look! I don’t often get her looking directly at me on film – she’s always moving way too fast!

Even with a dirty face and old clothes on – she is so beautiful to me! Those eyes just get me! They seem to just get a little lighter and bluer each day. I know I’m her mama so I’m totally biased, but I think she has just the most perfect coloring! She has her daddy’s rosy complexion, those rich blue eyes, and I can’t decide if her hair wants to be brown or blonde.  I’m afraid she has my nose… sorry child! She DOES have the shape of my eyes, so I’m happy about that!

I’ll have an announcement to make on this blog on Monday – I’ve been wanting to share for a while.
FYI – I am NOT pregnant.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Seriously, she is SO cute! I’ve lapsed in my blogging this week, too. Matt’s been off all week, so I don’t have much alone time (which is a good thing!).

And I love that anytime you (“you” being in general) have an announcement to make you have to preface it with “I’m not pregnant.” I do that all the time!

Haha! Same here! With Todd being home, I’ve hardly had time for anything! We also have a lot of stuff coming up (trip out of town, B’s birthday, my birthday, etc) I have no idea when I’m going to be able to sit down and write again!

Yes – you simply cannot make a “special announcement” when you are of child bearing age!
