Life Update #532

Just a quick update on what’s going on in our lives!

1 – I celebrated my birthday and it turned out quite wonderful. I got to spend it with friends and family and I got a new charm for my Pandora bracelet. I ate lots of delicious food and got to spend a day with just my husband! WOOHOO! First, I got to go to the baby doctor, then we went out for sushi and Starbucks, then after a quick change we went to the mall and then to the Cheesecake Factory to celebrate! Today, I went out with my friend for pedicures (and got to enjoy a good old swap meet).

2 – I met my new OB and I think he’s really going to be great. I hope this place is as great as I think it’s going to be. The baby sounds great and while the area is super busy — I think I like it a lot! It’s just kind of crazy that my OB is only in his mid-thirties. It feels like he could be one of my classmates. That’s a little disconcerting. HA!

3 – We are moved up here to Oklahoma (have I said this yet?) and we are living with family. All our stuff is in boxes, but we feel as settled in as we could be. I’m ready for something more permanent.

4 – Some not so good news. We are coming across some hiccups in the house search. We believe that the right place is out there for us, but I never imagined that this could be so exhausting. Also — it’s hard when you’re staying with family and you don’t really have a good and private place to think and talk about things. Opinions abound! I just remind myself — our future home is for the three (almost 4) of us. Not anyone else’s. The end.

5 – Some more not so good news. I made the boneheaded decision to do my glucose testing on Thursday because I didn’t want to drive back the next day (I didn’t have the availability). I didn’t know I was going to have it done and I didn’t know I would have to be fasting. I had a cup of coffee with cream and sugar plus a small piece of coffee cake that day. That said… my sugars came back elevated and now I get to go back next week and get the 3 hour test! Please — pray that I don’t have gestational diabetes and it was just my decision that made me pay! Thanks.

6 – I’ve been away from Facebook more and it’s really been kind of nice. My feed is abuzz with equality debates (with almost the same fervor as the Chick-fil-A debate!) and I’m just glad I’m able to take a step back and not participate. I don’t think most (if any) debates are actually won on Facebook, and rarely do you see healthy and constructive conversations. I’d rather brag on my kid, thanks.

7 – My baby girl turns 3 this week! I can’t believe it. Cue the tears.

8 – I’m just feeling like there’s a lot on my plate right now. I’m trying to enjoy the blessings in the midst of the messiness, but I’m a little overwhelmed. Being without a place to live as you get ready to enter your 3rd trimester of pregnancy will do that to you. 😉

So… pray for a house, pray for no gestational diabetes, a healthy baby, and a slight reprieve from overwhelming hormones.

Whew.
