Sometimes I wish there were more hours in the day. I feel like I have several running lists in my life: things that must be done, things I want to do, things I wish I could do, and things that just show up in the midst of everything else.
Blogging, crafting, and things that energize me are on the list of things I want to do. Unfortunately, I have this thing called “raising children” and “keeping my house at a reasonable level of sanity” that get in the way. ha! Time must be chosen wisely and often I can only do about 1 thing a day that’s my own. I don’t mind that at all, but since I’ve been crafting lately, blogging has been thrown to the back burner.
Sorry about that, Mom and Dad.
I thought I would share with you some of the projects I have been working on. It’s been a lot of fun reconnecting with making things and I have forgotten how much I enjoy it! The groove is coming back and I’m getting a little more comfortable figuring out what I like aesthetically.
There’s something so therapeutic about it, this process of design and reveal. There’s a rhythm to the quiet concentration of brushstrokes. Paint-brush-brush-brush, paint-brush-brush-brush. I forget about the work that needs to be done, the stress I’m feeling, the frustrations of monotonous chores, and instead I see something I thought about come to life on a board or a canvas. I love the accomplishment of creating something. Anything.
I repainted an old table I had…
And made a sign for my bathroom:
And a set for the guest bath:
I tried my hand at making shirts:
One for Bluebelle
and a set for this 4th of July:
And played with canvas:
And it all started with this one, so I had to re-share. 🙂
So here’s a little bit of the reason I’ve been quiet more. I’ve been enjoying this so much, I may just make some extras and see if I can sell a bit here and there. Not for income, necessarily, but just because I need an excuse to keep buying supplies! 🙂
I hope you all have a great week!
